Addressing Today's Health Disparities and Challenges
Through Education, Advocacy and Support.

It is estimated that over 50% of the population belongs to a racial, ethnic, gender, disability status / special needs, or sexual identity and orientation minority group.

Disparities in health and healthcare not only affect the groups facing disparities but also limit overall gains in quality of care and health for the broader population. Addressing health disparities is increasingly important as the population becomes more and more diverse.

Though health indicators such as life expectancy and infant mortality have improved for most, some minorities experience a disproportionate burden of preventable disease, death, and disability compared with non-minorities.
